New York & Company/ I.N. Studio

New York & Company is one of my new favorite places to shop. While they tend to be quite pricey, they have good sales and a good amount of their shirts can be classified as modest while still being fashionable. This peach shirt is from there and the material is light and cool, but still thick enough around the top and middle to resist being transparent. The only problem is that black shines through (as you can see with the skirt) but as long as you wear white on top you have good coverage.

My skirt is from I.N. Studio and was from my cousin. I haven't seen anything else on their website that would qualify as modest, but as with most clothing companies you can find something wearable every once in a while.

Spring Outfit Mix and Match

Spring arrived with all of it's floral glory quite a few weeks ago, and I'm just now finding the time to make a post on spring outfits. I recently found two shirts that I've been able to mix and match with my casual and church clothes.
This first peach shirt is from a brand name called "Timing" and was found at Gabriel Brothers. My skirt is from Style J and was posted on here last year when I first purchased it.
This second shirt was found at Ross and is from "Cotton Express." While it looks like nothing more than a basic white dress shirt the thing I liked about it most was that it isn't transparent and you don't have to layer on the somewhat bulky undershirts to keep everything covered.

Here is a combination of both outfits. The frills on the front and the scrunched sleeves make it dressy enough to match my church skirts, and the cotton material goes well with my casual clothes.

~Stage and JCPenney~

I was pleased to recently discover some fun sweater blouses at our local Stage store!

I really liked the design and style of these blouses so I decided to get two of them! ;)

They are very comfortable to wear and I like the "sharp look and feel" they give!

My skirt is from JCPenny's. It has a black ribbon around the waist that can be tied in a bow on the side and it is made up of 19 panels...so it is easy to move in (not to mention...it twirls quite nicely! :) )

Blessings to you all!

~Winter Coats~

One thing I enjoy during the winter time is getting bundled up in a fashionable coat and being ready to face the weather. We've been hit with an abundance of snow and ice storms over the past few weeks and the cold season has provided plenty of opportunity to wear one of my favorite long wool coats. The name brand is "George" and I love the design. The length allows for more coverage and warmth, and the belt around the waistline looks fashionable while enabling the coat to fit just right.

~New York & Company, Old Navy~

As winter is still upon us, here is one of my favorite outfits for the cold weather. This plaid skirt is from Old Navy and the shirt is from New York & Company. I love the length of the skirt and the style. It's almost 100% wool and if the heater is on it can be a little too warm! Definitely a nice choice for the cold fall and winter months.

More frequent post coming soon!

~Frenchi and Christopher&Banks~

Fall is almost over and I finally have time to make a post. This is one of my favorite outfits this season. One of the things I love most about fall is the beautiful leaves, the smell of chimney smoke coming out of the neighbors chimney's, pumpkin pie spice candles, and Plaid skirts.

This skirt is from Christopher&Banks, and my sweater is from "Frenchi." The sweater is soft and well fitting and the collar isn't too low. I looked up other articles of clothing from this name-brand and found that they have a lot of things that wouldn't count as modest, but they do have something good every once in a while.

~Blessings to you all!~

~Skirts by Joy~

My friend Joy recently finished some sewing projects and sent these pictures over so I could post them. Joy describes the skirts here:

"The tan skirt is Butterick 5042. I love the interesting design of this skirt! Once you figure out how to sew the panels it's very fun! For some reason the waist ended up being a little big. I think this happened because I didn't staystich the panels by the waist so the material ended up stretching out a bit. The tops were from various places." ~Joy~

"The black skirt is from pattern Simplicity 3881 I love this skirt! It's very comfortable and I love the bottom ruffle! I used a denim material. The pattern doesn't really have a waistband and the skirt is supposed to sit 1" below the waist. I don't like skirts like that so I made a yoke (A larger waistband) for the skirt. "
